Update — October 2006
The human condition is the most difficult of all subjects for humans to address but it is nevertheless the subject around which the whole mystery of what it is to be human, and about how we are to survive as a species, unlocks. Being such a challenging subject we are taking a patient, long-range approach to making this documentary about it.
Support
We are approaching completion of the stage where we assemble support from eminent scientists and thinkers for the making of the documentary. The endorsements, have been excellent and, since this is such a difficult project, are very greatly appreciated.
Funding
We are now in the process of sending out Proposals with the excellent endorsements to various possible funding organisations for the substantial funds needed to make the documentary. We are happy to report that we already have a commitment for A$1million towards the production of the documentary, which is an excellent start.
Documentary Makers
We have a number of much appreciated offers to be involved in the production of the documentary from producers, directors, script writers, cameramen, researchers and other key personnel. As production is some way off no firm plans for the actual making of the documentary are being made at this stage, however all those who have expressed interest are being kept informed of developments.
Book Completed To Accompany The Documentary
A new book titled, The Great Exodus: From the horror and darkness of the human condition, has been completed on the biology of the human condition to accompany the eventual launch of the Human Condition Documentary. Written by the author of the Documentary Proposal’s synopses, Australian biologist Jeremy Griffith, it contains a significant expansion of the biology of the human condition that is in the Proposal, and covers questions raised in the feedback that we have received to it. Professor Harry Prosen has written the foreword. This ground-breaking book is currently being submitted to international publishers as an intended cross-marketing accompaniment for the eventual release of the Human Condition Documentary. Quote from Professor Prosen’s Foreword: “Finding understanding of the human condition, our capacity for good and evil, has been the Holy Grail of the whole Darwinian revolution and I am convinced this book presents that vital understanding, and by so doing makes possible the rehabilitation of the human race. As such I believe that there has never been a more important book.”
